Teaser Tuesday: August 20

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here’s my teaser!

"You know how we make a Scotch and water in this home?"
"No, sir," Gus said.
"We pour Scotch into a glass and then call to mind thoughts of water, and then we mix the actual Scotch with the abstracted idea of water."
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, page 184

  6. Funny teaser. Reminds me of the definition of a dry martini I once heard: Just let the fumes of the vermouth near the glass of gin.
My teaser is from THROUGH A YELLOW WOOD.

  9. Haha, this is awesome XD I love reading quotes from this book. It's the closest I'll ever get to actually reading the whole novel because I know how good a writer Green is and I just can't do this to myself. The cancer thing just hits too close to home and would force me to dig up memories I don't want to deal with.
Thanks for stopping by my TTT post :)
