Teaser Tuesday: The Red Queen

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here’s my teaser!

"Poor little girl. Poor, poor little girl," Nan says, and at first I think she is speaking of the baby, perhaps it is a girl after all. But then I realize she is speaking of me, a girl of thirteen years, whose own mother has said that they can let her die as long as a son and heir is born.

  1. I haven't read any of this series. There are just too many books and too little time.

Thanks for sharing - and here's mine.

    1. I am enjoying this one. Maybe not quite as much as I did The White Queen, but it is still holding my interest very well.

  5. Oh, I've wanted to read this one. But I don't like the fact that Gregory makes up fiction and presents it as fact. It distorts history...

    1. I've heard that complaint from others, but since it is fiction,it doesn't really bother me, especially with the 'magic' factor.
