I’ve decided to add one more challenge to my list because it is one of my informal goals anyway. I am going to participate in the 2014 TBR Pile Challenge hosted by Roof Beam Reader. The idea here is to reduce your TBR pile by reading books you’ve accumulated or had on your TBR for far too long. I don’t know about you, but I have books I’ve been meaning to get to for at least three years! I challenged myself last year to reduce the list, and I DID make a dent, but not nearly as big as I’d hoped. So I have decided that I want to read at least one book each month that I’ve had on my list for awhile. The only thing that makes this challenge a little different is that I have to choose my reads NOW! But I do get to put in two alternates in case one of the books I planned ends up being a ‘DNF’. And I DON’T have to read them in order. So…..let’s get started….
My Official 2014 TBR Pile Challenge List

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini
Band of Sisters by Cathy Gohlke
Journey to the Well by Diana Wallis Taylor
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty
The Homecoming by Dan Walsh
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve
The Scent of Sake by Joyce Chapman Lebra
The Swan House by Elizabeth Musser
Walking on Broken Glass by Christa Allan
While We’re Far Apart by Lynn Austin

I’m not sure what order I will read them in, and I haven’t designated two of them as alternates. I will just pick and choose as the mood strikes, hoping to get to at least twelve, and will consider it a bonus if I read them all!
Disclaimer: Three of these are on our book clubs ‘possibilities’ list. Maybe I can double dip!

So what do you think? Have you read any of these, or are you planning to read any of these? Which would you put at the top of YOUR TBR?
