Waiting on Wednesday: Mrs. Hemingway

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine in which we spotlight upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating!

Mrs. Hemingway
by Naomi Wood
Expected Publication Date: May 27, 2014
Synopsis from Goodreads

The Paris Wife was only the beginning of the story . . .

Paula McLain’s New York Times bestselling novel piqued readers’ interest about Ernest Hemingway’s romantic life. But Hadley was only one of four women married, in turn, to the legendary writer. Just as T.C. Boyle’s bestseller The Women completed the picture begun by Nancy Horan’s Loving Frank, Naomi Wood’s Mrs. Hemingway tells the story of how it was to love, and be loved by, the most famous and dashing writer of his generation. Hadley, Pauline, Martha and Mary: each Mrs. Hemingway thought their love would last forever; each one was wrong.

Told in four parts and based on real love letters and telegrams, Mrs. Hemingway reveals the explosive love triangles that wrecked each of Hemingway's marriages. Spanning 1920s bohemian Paris through 1960s Cold War America, populated with members of the fabled "Lost Generation," Mrs. Heminway is a riveting tale of passion, love, and heartbreak.

Why I am waiting....
I haven’t yet read The Paris Wife, even though I plan to. But I’m looking forward to this one because it covers ALL of his wives!

  7. How very fascinating!! I'd like to read "The Paris Wife" myself. It couldn't have been easy to be married to Hemingway. He was such a HUGE male chauvinist!! So, of course, he cheated on all four wives. I might like his writing, but definitely not him as a person. I have the very same problem with Picasso. Another player!! Although, in the Picasso's case, I don't like many of his pictures.

You know, it's very interesting.....women who date married men think, once they manage to get the man to leave his wife, and marry THEM, that the same thing won't happen to them. Ha, ha! Karma is RUTHLESS!! The majority of them end up having the same thing happen to them. And I don't feel ONE BIT sorry for them!!! I say this from the perspective of a wife who was cheated on, and is pretty sure THEY got the same in return.

Thanks for commenting on my WOW!! : )
