Six Degrees of Separation: All The Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld

It’s time for another Six Degrees of Separation! Six Degrees of Separation is a monthly meme, hosted by Annabel Smith and Emma Chapman, which normally runs on the first Saturday of the month. The main idea of this meme is to form a chain of books by linking something they have in common, kind of like forming a word ladder with common letters, and everyone begins their chains with the same book. Other than that, there are no set rules. You get to make your own!

This month, we are starting with All The Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld. I haven’t read this one, or even heard of it before, and I’m not really sure it is a book I would enjoy. But when the book was mentioned I thought I had heard of it. That is because I got it confused with a book on my TBR, Sing In The Morning, Cry At Night by Barbara J. Taylor.
I’m not sure why, because they really aren’t at all similar, but they both DO have the word “Sing” in the title, and one has “Bird” in the title and the other has a bird on the cover. Close enough, right?? So my first move is from All The Birds, Singing to Sing In The Morning, Cry At Night.
From Sing In The Morning, Cry At Night I am moving on to A Life Apart by L.Y. Marlow. These books don’t really have much in common, other than they are both historical fiction. But they also are both books I received the the Library Thing Early Reviewers program.
From A Life Apart my next step is to Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. These are both historical fiction and have a similar plot. Both begin in the WWII years and advance to present day, and both stories revolve around a man who is married to one woman while loving another, and are left widowers when their wives die of cancer.
From Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet I am moving on to Her Mother’s Hope by Francine Rivers. This is the first book in the two-book Marta’s Legacy series. WWII plays an important role in both of these books. One of the things I found interesting in each was that characters were sent off to interment camps for Japanese-Americans. I really didn’t know much about the camps, so I learned something.
Her Mother’s Hope  leads me very naturally to Her Daughter’s Dream, book two of the Marta’s Legacy series, and of course, both are written by the same author!

So there it is...my chain. From All The Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld to Her Daughter’s Dream by Francine Rivers. And since I get to make the rules, this month I am stopping with a chain instead of making a circle!

Your turn! Want to play along? Just post your chain on your blog and then post a link on either Annabel’s or Emma’s monthly post. Or if you aren’t a blogger, just post your chain tin the comments section.  And if you post your link here, I’ll be sure to take a look!

  1. Great chain: I haven't read any on your list apart from All The Bird, Singing. It's interesting how your mind makes connections: like with the first link and how you thought you'd heard of Evie's book because of a similar one on your TBR. See you next month!
