The Bite in the Apple: A Memoir of My Life with Steve Jobs
by Chrisann Brennan
Expected Publication Date: October 29, 2013
Synopsis from Goodreads

An intimate look at the life of Steve Jobs by the mother of his first child providing rare insight into Jobs's formative, lesser-known years

Steve Jobs was a remarkable man who wanted to unify the world through technology. For him, the point was to set people free with tools to explore their own unique creativity. Chrisann Brennan knows this better than anyone. She met him in high school, at a time when Jobs was passionately aware that there was something much bigger to be had out of life, and that new kinds of revelations were within reach.

The Bite in the Apple is the very human tale of Jobs’s ascent and the toll it took, told from the author’s unique perspective as his first girlfriend, co-parent, friend, and—like many others—object of his cruelty. Brennan writes with depth and breadth, and she doesn’t buy into all the hype. She talks with passion about an idealistic young man who was driven to change the world, about a young father who denied his own child, and about a man who mistook power for love. Chrisann Brennan’s intimate memoir provides the reader with a human dimension to Jobs’ myth. Finally, a book that reveals a more real Steve Jobs.

Why I am waiting....
Truthfully, I’m not sure I will read this one. I am not a fan of memoirs in general. And often in these ‘tell all’ type memoirs, it seems that most of the interesting tidbits are already covered in the pre-release blurbs. But I will definitely be watching for reviews and thumb through it at the bookstore to see if it is worth my time!

  1. I don't think I've ever, or will ever, read a memoir. Other peoples actual lives just don't really appeal to me. Wise idea watching for reviews haha.

  2. I think I like the sound of seeing the world through the eyes of someone who knew him well. Thanks for sharing...and here's MY WOW POST

  3. I should read this book. Learn some more about him.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Everyone should read this book, including me!

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. I agree...I don't usually read memoirs, either, but this guy's life was pretty intriguing. Though, I don't know how much of this tell-all will be true, considering the source. If you do read it, I hope you enjoy it. :)

  6. Not into this type of book either. Most of the interesting stuff comes out in the release reviews/blurbs.
    Thanks for stopping by

  7. I've never read a memoir before but that's probably because I haven't found a memoir of a person that truly interests me. I hope you enjoy this. Thanks for stopping by my WoW!
